Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Toyota Yaris Generations

Toyota Yaris 13 Generation (2020)

The latest Yaris sedan and hatchback are skewed versions of the Mazda2 global sedan and hatchback, built by Mazda for Toyota to sell in North America. Not only is the new Yaris super fuel-efficient, but it’s also surprisingly fun, with a lightning-fast engine, tight handling, responsive steering, and a stylish interior.

Toyota Yaris 12 Generation (2018)

Toyota’s Yaris subcompact will roll into 2018 with a light styling refresh and upgraded entertainment technology. It will continue to be available in two- and four-door hatchback models and in three trims: L, LE, and SE.

Toyota Yaris 11 Generation (2017)

The 2017 Toyota Safety Sense C package, which includes pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams, is standard on all models.

Toyota Yaris 10 Generation (2016)

The 2016 Toyota Yaris is a subcompact, five-seat hatchback available in two- and four-door configurations. It competes with the Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, and Chevrolet Sonic. Trim levels include the L, LE, and SE.

Toyota Yaris 9 Generation (2015)

Visual updates for 2015 keep Toyota’s subcompact hatchback mildly interesting, and it handles a lot better than its humble pedigree suggests. But there’s little to praise beyond that. Shoppers on a tight budget will find the base Yaris has generous standard features, but once you move up a trim level or two, better choices for similar money exist.

Toyota Yaris 8 Generation (2014)

All trim levels now have daytime running lights. There are no other significant changes.

Toyota Yaris 7 Generation (2013)

The base Yaris gets an upgraded stereo, but there are no other significant changes for 2013.

Toyota Yaris 6 Generation (2012)

Toyota changed the look of its subcompact Yaris in 2012, dropped the sedan version, and stretched the overall length of the car. The Yaris competes in a busy field of small cars that includes the Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent, and Mazda2. Available as either a two- or four-door hatchback, the Yaris is offered in three trim levels: base L, LE, and sportier SE.

Toyota Yaris 5 Generation (2011)

There are no significant changes in 2011.

Toyota Yaris 4 Generation (2010)

In the world of subcompact cars, things have improved greatly over the past few years. Today’s smallest models offer a lot of room, good fuel economy, and surprising levels of quality for small amounts of money. The Toyota Yaris is in this segment, and this is the first year the smallest Toyota has been available as a four-door hatchback; previously, only a two-door hatch and a sedan were offered.

Toyota Yaris 3 Generation (2009)

In the realm of tiny cars, the Yaris isn’t that unattractive. Its snub nose is probably its most striking attribute, and you can find it on both the sedan and hatchback. The sedan’s body style is very traditional; it doesn’t stand out on the road. The two- and four-door hatchbacks have a bit more utility and are more distinguishable.

Toyota Yaris 2 Generation (2008)

The Yaris comes in two body styles: a two-door hatchback and a four-door sedan. The sedan, the basis of this review, is the more conservative-looking.

Toyota Yaris 1 Generation (2007)

The base models have 14-inch wheels while the S trim level, currently for sedans only, has 15-inches. Both are simple steel with wheel covers. Fifteen-inch alloy wheels come in some option packages. The S trim level adds side skirts and a rear air dam.
