Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Toyota Avalon Generations

Toyota Avalon 27 Generation (2021)

The flagship Toyota Avalon sedan will get all-wheel drive in the 2021 model year, but it limits that system to more tame models with a four-cylinder gas engine than those that use the more powerful V-6.

Toyota Avalon 26 Generation (2020)

Following Avalon’s 2019 redesign, the 2020 model offers a new performance-focused TRD trim level. The TRD version gets a lower, performance-tuned suspension, unique wheels and tires, bigger brakes, a TRD-tuned exhaust system, and various cosmetic changes.

Toyota Avalon 25 Generation (2019)

The 2019 Avalon will be offered in four trims in ascending order of price: XLE, XSE, Limited, and Touring. The Avalon Hybrid, which will receive several hybrid-specific touches in addition to its redesign, will be available in the XLE, XSE, and Limited trims.

Toyota Avalon 24 Generation (2018)

For 2018, the Avalon remains unchanged, but its design is being upgraded as an all-new 2019 model. It goes on sale in a few months with a bold new look, a more modern multimedia system, and a fresh interior design. The interior trim levels of the 2018 model are Toyota Avalon XLE, Toyota Avalon XLE Plus, Toyota XLE Premium, Toyota Avalon Touring, and Toyota Avalon Limited.

Toyota Avalon 23 Generation (2017)

All 2017 Toyota Avalon models come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P, which includes lane departure warning and prevention, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection.

Toyota Avalon 22 Generation (2016)

In 2016, Toyota slightly modified its full-size Avalon inside and out. Inside, all 2016 Avalon now has gray accent seams with a light gray interior, while the XLE and XLE Plus trims get new wood trim on the dashboard, a 7-inch Entune Audio Plus multimedia screen, and a tire pressure monitoring system for specific tires. The XLE Premium level now adds Entune Premium Audio with navigation and Toyota’s suite of apps, as well as QI wireless charging as standard.

Toyota Avalon 21 Generation (2015)

The 2015 shift paddles and Normal, Sport, and Eco driving modes are now standard. There’s also a new Touring Sport Edition with unique 18-inch wheels, high-intensity-discharge headlights and LED daytime running lights, aluminum scuff plates, and special badges. It comes in black with dark blue interior trim.

Toyota Avalon 20 Generation (2014)

A backup camera is standard on all models, and Limited models add dynamic guidelines to the camera’s image.

Toyota Avalon 19 Generation (2013)

The Avalon Hybrid joins the lineup for 2013 with EPA-estimated gasoline consumption of 40/39/40 miles per gallon city/highway/together. Non-hybrids also increase mileage.

Toyota Avalon 18 Generation (2012)

There are no significant changes for the 2012 model year.

Toyota Avalon 17 Generation (2011)

The 2011 Avalon gets some subtle styling changes in the front and rear. The headlights, grille, and front bumper are new, but since the overall look is very similar to the previous version, the changes could easily go unnoticed. The same goes for the rear, which has new but familiar-looking LED taillights and a license plate holder that has been moved from the bumper to the restyled trunk lid.

Toyota Avalon 16 Generation (2010)

Standard on all trims is Toyota’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine, and it moves authoritatively through the Avalon. The exhaust sound turns into a squeaky sound if you push the car hard, but otherwise, the engine sounds quiet. The torque steering can sometimes tug at your fingers, but that’s to be expected in a front-wheel-drive V-6 sedan, and it’s not the dominant sensation in the Avalon.

Toyota Avalon 15 Generation (2009)

For 2009, Toyota got rid of the sport-tuned Touring trim, leaving the base XL, midlevel XLS, and top-of-the-line Limited. An electronic stability system is now standard, to check out all of this year’s changes by comparing the ’08 Avalon to the ’09.

Toyota Avalon 14 Generation (2008)

The 2008 model year saw the most significant changes, including a revised exterior, a new six-speed automatic transmission, and improved braking.

Toyota Avalon 13 Generation (2007)

Compared to the 2007 Camry, the Avalon is 8 inches longer overall and 1.7 inches longer in wheelbase. Toyota describes the Avalon as having “subtle” character lines and a grille that incorporates chrome-accented horizontal bars. Fog lamps are installed on all models except the XL. The XL’s wheels measure 16 inches in diameter, and the other three models have 17-inches.

Toyota Avalon 12 Generation (2006)

However, the Avalon is impressively fast, both from a standstill and at highway speeds. Toyota claims that the Avalon can reach 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and this time seems quite plausible.

Toyota Avalon 11 Generation (2005)

The Avalon responds with precision and behaves like a much smaller car than it is, but drivers have to deal with minimal feedback from the steering wheel. The brakes stop the sedan easily and are easy to adjust, but the brake pedal feels spongy.

Toyota Avalon 10 Generation (2004)

After receiving front and rear styling updates for the 2003 model year, Toyota’s largest passenger car essentially stands pat for 2004. Vehicle Stability Control is newly available on the XL sedan, but little else has changed.

Toyota Avalon 9 Generation (2003)

More striking than the original Avalon, the current model features a wider grille and a lower air intake that complements the steeply sloped windshield and rear window. The Avalon’s front struts are rounded, but the most striking feature of this car is its rear end, which is accentuated by large taillights.

Toyota Avalon 8 Generation (2002)

The 2002 Avalon has a 107.1-inch wheelbase and has an overall length of almost 192 inches.

Toyota Avalon 7 Generation (2001)

Toyota’s nearly full-size sedan underwent a restyling last year and got more interior space, but it remains unchanged this year.

Toyota Avalon 6 Generation (2000)

Toyota has adopted the “cab-forward” approach. The design philosophy pioneered in the Chrysler LH sedan moved the Avalon’s dashboard 4 inches forward to make the interior longer. Small gauges are squeezed into a narrow recessed area that stretches across the width of the dashboard.
