Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Subaru Legacy Generations
Subaru Legacy 30 Generation (2021)
In 2021, adaptive LED headlights, a rear-seat reminder, and a passenger seat belt reminder are now standard.
Subaru Legacy 29 Generation (2020)
Subaru has redesigned its midsize sedan for 2020, giving the Legacy a new platform and more powerful styling, as well as a newly available turbocharged four-cylinder engine for XT models to replace the outgoing six-cylinder engine.
Subaru Legacy 28 Generation (2019)
Subaru’s Eyesight safety system is now standard. Eyesight includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. A multimedia system with a 6.5-inch screen, an updated instrument panel with a 5-inch display, and dual USB ports on the front center console are also standard. Blindspot warning and rear cross-traffic alert are included on the 2.5i Sport trim level.
Subaru Legacy 27 Generation (2018)
The 2018 Legacy’s front headlights have a more horizontal design, while the fog lights also have a horizontal frame and wider openings. The lower bumper opening has sharper edges, and the Subaru logo is located on a more protruding grille bar, a signal reminiscent of the automaker’s one-time attempt to create a winged grille. The rear has a restyled bumper cladding with nicer inserts around the edges, otherwise, it’s essentially a leftover from last year.
Subaru Legacy 26 Generation (2017)
For the 2017 model year, Subaru has added two new features to the available Eyesight safety system. This safety feature set now includes automatic rear braking and automatic high beam headlights. Also, new for 2017, the Sport trim features chrome detailing, a dark gray grille, a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, and other stylish details.
Subaru Legacy 25 Generation (2016)
The changes for 2016 are minor. The steering system has been redesigned, and the lane departure prevention feature has been added to the available Eyesight safety system.
Subaru Legacy 24 Generation (2015)
For 2015, the Subaru Legacy has overcome the fuel economy penalty of standard all-wheel-drive while delivering all-season capability in a handsome package, inside and out. It’s now one of the most affordable cars in its class.
Subaru Legacy 23 Generation (2014)
The 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Sport is a safe, sensible family sedan, but the dated interior and tepid styling of the soon-to-be-redesigned model limits its appeal.
Subaru Legacy 22 Generation (2013)
For the 2013 model year, the Legacy underwent minor styling changes, including new headlights, fog lights, grille, and front bumper. Unfortunately, not much has been updated on the interior. The 2013 Legacy comes with two engines in three trims, five options total 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 3.6R. and 3.6R Limited. The numbers denote engine displacements – 2.5 and 3.6 liters.
Subaru Legacy 21 Generation (2012)
For 2012, all Premium models have a new CD stereo with Bluetooth streaming audio and hands-free phone connectivity as well as iPod compatibility. A newly optional Harman Kardon stereo features a 4.3-inch screen, song tagging capability, and satellite radio. Limited models now have standard fog lights.
Subaru Legacy 20 Generation (2011)
Following last year’s redesign, Legacy receives minor changes for 2011. All models now have standard folding side mirrors. The 2.5 GT Premium model is gone, leaving the 2.5 GT Limited as the lone turbocharged model.
Subaru Legacy 19 Generation (2010)
The Subaru Legacy has been redesigned for 2010 and now boasts a bigger backseat and improved gas mileage, with the same nimble steering the 2009 model had. Snowbelt drivers will appreciate its standard all-wheel-drive, which few competitors offer.
Subaru Legacy 18 Generation (2009)
The Subaru Legacy gets a standard electronic stability system for 2009. The Legacy also gets a new trim level, called 3.0R, which features the 3.0R Limited’s six-cylinder engine but is less expensive. Subaru has stopped selling the Legacy Wagon for 2009.
Subaru Legacy 17 Generation (2008)
Three years after it introduced the latest Legacy sedan and wagon, Subaru offers a mildly restyled version for 2008. In lieu of the three-piece winged grille splayed across the Impreza sedan and B9 Tribeca SUV, the Legacy offers a more conservative, single-piece grille bisected by a winged crossbar.
Subaru Legacy 16 Generation (2007)
Changes for the 2007 Subaru Legacy include an enhanced GT Limited Spec B performance edition, as well as modified interior controls and upgraded safety options.
Subaru Legacy 15 Generation (2006)
For 2006, the non-turbocharged 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder gets an increase from 168 to 175 hp, courtesy of a new i-Active Valve Lift System. Legacy 2.5i models gain 17-inch alloy wheels and larger front brakes. A navigation system is now available.
Subaru Legacy 14 Generation (2005)
In 2005, one modification over the regular Legacy is a faster gear ratio, so the steering wheel requires less turning to achieve the same steering angle. It also makes the steering feedback more stable. Instead of 16-inch wheels, the regular Legacy has 17-inch alloy wheels on the bottom row.
Subaru Legacy 13 Generation (2004)
The 2004 Legacy will receive only minor improvements. The main difference is the name change: Legacy L Special Edition will now be called Legacy L 35th Anniversary Edition.
Subaru Legacy 12 Generation (2003)
A new 2.5 GT model in Subaru larger Legacy series consolidated the previous GT and GT Limited for the 2003 model year. A new Sport shift feature for the automatic transmission allowed manual gear selection. A Special Edition package for the L sedan and wagon added some equipment from the 2.5 GT, including a power moon roof and 16-inch alloy wheels. All Legacy models earned a freshened appearance by receiving a new grille and front bumper/fascia.
Subaru Legacy 11 Generation (2002)
All GT versions of the Subaru compact series gain larger-diameter front brake discs for 2002. A standard All-Weather Package on the GT Limited sedan includes heated front seats, heated mirrors, and a wiper deicer. Sedans gain an internal trunk release with a self-illuminating handle.
Subaru Legacy 10 Generation (2001)
The compact Legacy was redesigned last year, and the sedan versions carry over to 2001 with minor changes. Subaru is adding a six-cylinder engine and a more sophisticated all-wheel-drive system to its wagon lineup, but the sedans continue to use four-cylinder engines and the same all-wheel-drive system as all models used last year.
Subaru Legacy 9 Generation (2000)
With a wheelbase of 104.3 inches and an overall length of 184 inches, the Legacy belongs squarely in the compact car class. All models seat five, and the center rear position has a three-point seat belt. Unlike most competitors, the rear seat back does not fold for additional cargo space on the Legacy sedan, though it has a small pass-through section to the trunk. Cargo capacity is 12.4 cubic feet.
