There are several things you should pay attention to when choosing Non-HID headlight bulbs. Certainly, brightness is one of the main parameters you have to pay attention to. It allows you to drive safely and provide good brightness for the same cost.

Increasing the brightness of the filament
The way that the leading manufacturers have chosen is to increase the brightness of the filament, i.e. increase its temperature. We can see this in all lamps with higher light output, regardless of whether they are made in what socket – H4 or H7. This is achieved due to the fact that the filament is made thinner and the number of its turns becomes more – while maintaining the same geometric dimensions. The resistance increases and the brightness of the luminescence increases.
If we look under magnification at the tungsten filament, we see that with a new lamp it is smooth (left). A lamp that is already in use (right) has erosion on the filament, and the task of adding xenon to the bulb is to reduce this effect.
Increasing the glow temperature causes the tungsten from the filament to evaporate more. When you remove a burned-out bulb from the car, pay attention to the metal buildup that is visible on the inside of the bulb – it’s tungsten. No matter how refractory it is, the high temperature causes metal atoms to fly off the surface and deposit on the bulb. This process leads to the formation of the visible metallic sputtering on the bulb and to the earlier failure of high output halogen bulbs.
To slow this process, an inert gas, xenon, is pumped into the bulb. The tungsten atom that flew out from the surface of the coil collides with the filler gas atoms and precipitates back onto the coil surface. It is the balance of brightness, design reliability, and durability that is the main task of the developers. And each next step to increase brightness is more and more difficult. The higher the light output of the filament, the higher the gas pressure is required for the stable and long-term operation of the lamp. It is difficult, but in Osram Night Breaker 200 lamps the developers managed to make the duration of operation of the new lamps not shorter than in the lamps of the previous generation Night Breaker Laser.

Conventional incandescent bulbs contain a filament in a vacuum that is filled with special halogen gases (usually iodine or bromine).
The halogen reacts to the hot filament while helping it create more light, which is usually white in color.
What are HID xenon headlights?
HID xenon headlights are radically different from halogen headlights. The HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulb is filled with xenon and has no filament inside. Instead, there is a spark between the electrodes inside this gas discharge lamp, which provides the light of the lamp. To create this spark, the HID lamp needs a ballast.
The ballast is used to boost 12 volts from the car’s electrical system to 24,000 volts of electricity, it creates a powerful spark and ignites the xenon gas mixture. Once the spark ignites, the voltage in the bulb drops.
HID bulbs create more powerful light than conventional Non-HID bulbs, which are measured in thousands of lumens.
HID Xenon Headlights require a Ballast, while conventional Non-HID Headlight Bulbs do not require a Ballast. This is also the significant difference between HID and Non-HID Headlight Bulbs. Conventional Non-HID Bulbs are easier to install.
