Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Nissan Sentra Generations

Nissan Sentra 30 Generation (2021)

For 2021, changes are very minor and highlighted by the wider adoption of standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the lineup.

Nissan Versa 29 Generation (2020)

Nissan’s compact Sentra sedan got overhauled for 2020 with more exciting styling, a tech-focused interior, and a long list of standard safety and driver-assistance features, along with a new four-cylinder engine. In a close finish, a well-equipped 2020 Sentra ranked second overall in our comparison with the rival Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla sedans.

Nissan Versa 28 Generation (2019)

For 2019, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity are included in all trims except the base S version. The new SV Special Edition package includes 17-inch alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a power sunroof, and minor convenience features.

Nissan Versa 27 Generation (2018)

The 2019 frontal collision warning function with automatic emergency braking is now available on all models with the continuously variable automatic transmission except the NISMO version. Bluetooth audio streaming and a backup camera are now standard. The SR and SL trims get adaptive cruise control, and the SL also gets a Bose premium stereo and a sunroof.

Nissan Versa 26 Generation (2017)

The Sentra most stylish is the SR trim, though it’s worth noting that all of its seemingly fast parts are purely cosmetic in nature. It gets special 17-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, a rear spoiler, fog lights, and a chrome exhaust system tip.

Nissan Versa 25 Generation (2016)

To keep up with the competition, Nissan has updated the 2016 Nissan Sentra, including two major competing compact sedans that underwent a complete redesign this year: the Honda Civic and Chevrolet Cruze. The update replaces 20 percent of Sentra parts with new ones and adds new technology and safety features.

Nissan Versa 24 Generation (2015)

New standard features include automatic headlights, a USB port, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering-wheel audio controls.

Nissan Versa 23 Generation (2014)

For 2014, Nissan revised the tuning for the Sentra’s continuously variable transmission, steering, and suspension. Now standard are front-seat lower cushion storage pockets, an Auto Hazard Warning Signal, and updated Nissan Connect with navigation, smartphone integration, and voice recognition. A sliding front armrest is also added for the SL grade and SV/SR Driver Package.

Nissan Versa 22 Generation (2013)

The updated 2013 Nissan Sentra has many practical advantages, but it evokes little emotion. Interior trim levels include the Sentra S, SV, SR, and SL. The S can have a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional continuously variable automatic transmission. The variator is standard on all other trims.

Nissan Versa 21 Generation (2012)

Most Sentra configurations have a continuously variable automatic transmission, which provides instant response to the 140-horsepower four-cylinder engine and the ability to operate autonomously.

Nissan Versa 20 Generation (2011)

The 2011 Sentra gets standard safety features such as anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control, but not much has changed in this year’s model.

Nissan Versa 19 Generation (2010)

The Sentra comes standard with steel wheels, but our 2.0 SL had 16-inch alloy wheels with an eight-spoke design. Alloy wheels always grace the car’s exterior, and the 2.0 S and 2.0 SL models have chrome elements on the doors and trunk lids that serve the same purpose.

Nissan Sentra 18 Generation (2009)

While the regular Sentra has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the SE-R and SE-R Spec V have a 2.5-liter engine, but the Spec V is the higher-performance version: its intake and exhaust manifolds have been modified, it has different pistons with reinforced connecting rods, a higher compression ratio, and redesigned camshafts. Maximum engine speed increases to 7,000 rpm from 6,250 rpm in the smaller SE-R. The higher displacement gives a clear difference in torque compared to the engine in the regular Sentra, but the difference is not as great between the SE-R and Spec V versions.

Nissan Sentra 17 Generation (2008)

The 2008 model is basically unchanged.

Nissan Versa 16 Generation (2007)

The all-new 2007 Nissan Sentra sedan is so much better than the previous model that comparisons are meaningless. The previous generation was the stinker of the compact car class, but this is a solid competitor to the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

Nissan Versa 15 Generation (2006)

Significant changes for 2006 include the addition of a six-disc CD changer in the Audio Fanatic package and two new body colors: Sapphire Blue and Sunburst. The front-wheel-drive Sentra comes in 1.8, 1.8 S, and SE-R and SE-R Spec V trim.

Nissan Versa 14 Generation (2005)

Exterior design elements have been adapted from the automaker’s larger Maxima model. The low hood and high rear end give the Sentra a more upscale look. Sentra side moldings and bumpers are painted in body color. Chiseled characteristic lines run front to back and flush-mounted one-piece headlights are installed.

Nissan Versa 13 Generation (2004)

In the 2004 interior, front passengers get two bucket seats, and the rear bench offers nominal space for three more people, although adults may be cramped in there. The split rear seatbacks fold down for extra cargo space, and the locks are in the trunk. Options for the new SE-R include a 300-watt Rockford Fosgate stereo system with nine speakers.

Nissan Versa 12 Generation (2003)

The regular Sentra serves as a reliable and comfortable vehicle, combining a pleasant ride with easy maneuverability and all at a moderate price. The extra 19 hp in the SE sedan makes a noticeable difference in performance, especially with the automatic transmission.

Nissan Versa 11 Generation (2002)

Specifically, the Sentra SE-R returns, powered by a 165-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The Spec V version gets 10 extra horses and a six-speed manual transmission. The SE-R features a sport-tuned suspension with increased spring stiffness and 17-inch Spec V sedan tires. Nissan positions the SE-R against the Dodge Neon R/T, the new Honda Civic Si, and the Volkswagen GTI. Except for new option packages, not much has changed for the other 2002 Sentra. Option groups include the GXE Road Trip and Road Hugging packages, and the GXE Synergy package.

Nissan Versa 10 Generation (2001)

Nissan tries to give the Sentra a more upscale look with Maxima-like styling elements, including a low hood/high rear end, chiseled character lines running front to back, and an arched trunk line.
The length was increased by 6.5 inches to 177.5 with the redesign.

Nissan Versa 9 Generation (2000)

The new Sentra went on sale in late February as a 2000 model and offers fresh styling, improved handling, larger dimensions, and more power.
