For 2021, apart from the elimination of the entry-level L trim level, there are no significant changes.
Kia Sedona 18 Generation (2020)
There are no changes this year.
Kia Sedona 17 Generation (2019)
The outside of the Sedona looks much as it did before, but the new front end, headlights, grille, and fog lights are restyled to bring the Sedona more in line with the rest of the look of the Kia lineup. Five trim levels are still available: L, LX, EX/EX Premium, SX, and SXL. The SX and SXL trims receive standard LED headlights, while all models get redesigned taillights and tailgate trim.
Kia Sedona 16 Generation (2018)
2018 there are no significant changes.
Kia Sedona 15 Generation (2017)
For 2017 Apple CarPlay and Android Auto become standard on EX, SX and SXL trim levels and are optional on the LX. Automatic emergency braking is now part of the optional Technology Package.
Kia Sedona 14 Generation (2016)
The 2016 Kia Sedona adds a standard backup camera on every trim level. Heated seats are standard on the 2016 Kia Sedona EX and higher trims, and seating for eight is offered on SX and SXL models equipped with the Technology Package.

There are no major changes for 2012.
Kia Sedona 10 Generation (2011)
A new 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 271 horsepower is standard, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is now rated at 18/25 mpg city/highway, up from 17/23 mpg last year. The short-wheelbase Sedona is no longer available. The exterior gains a couple of minor styling updates, and a Bluetooth wireless cell phone link is now standard.
Kia Sedona 9 Generation (2010)
For 2010 a sonar-based backup warning system becomes standard on the LX and EX, and a new backup camera is optional. The 3.8-liter V-6 engine was recalibrated, and the city mileage rating increases by 1 mpg to 17 mpg, horsepower is unchanged at 244.
Kia Sedona 8 Generation (2009)
The 2009 Kia Sedona gets standard Sirius Satellite Radio with three months of free service and a USB connection port for MP3 players. EX models get an optional navigation unit.
Kia Sedona 7 Generation (2008)
The Sedona LX has 16-inch steel wheels and body-color moldings, EX models add 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and a chrome tailgate strip. At 202 inches long, the long-wheelbase Sedona is within an inch of most major competitors, and its turning radius is 39.6 feet.

For 2007, Kia becomes one of a handful of carmakers to offer a minivan in two sizes. The short-wheelbase Sedona is new, while the long-wheelbase Sedona is essentially the one that was offered last year. Both cars offer a standard 3.8-liter V-6, whose output has increased to 250 horsepower from 244 hp last year.

Following the first generation’s four-year run, Kia introduced a redesigned Sedona for 2006. Like other minivans, it offers a split, folding third-row seat. A passel of safety features includes side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags in all three rows, active front head restraints, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system. Power-adjustable pedals and a backup warning system are optional.

The Sedona’s styling breaks no new ground, so it’s similar to the competition. Its sleek appearance features a long sloping hood that leads into a grille that has a horizontal-bar design and multi-reflector headlights. Dual sliding side doors are standard. The higher-end EX model adds a body-colored roof rack, fog lights, alloy wheels, and additional chrome trim.

For 2004, the Sedona gets an interior and exterior freshening and the redesigned grille features a larger Kia logo, and the wheels and wheel covers have been restyled. Both the base LX and upscale EX models can now be equipped with a DVD entertainment system.

For 2003, the dual sliding side doors are standard. The higher-end EX model adds a body-colored roof rack, fog lights, alloy wheels, and additional chrome body trim.
Kia Sedona 1 Generation (2002)
The Sedona seats seven occupants with bucket seats in the first and second rows and a split bench in the third row. Second- and third-row seats slide fore and aft and can be reclined and removed. Child-seat anchors are installed in the second row. An overhead console is standard, the instrument panel contains a storage bin, and sat back holds map pockets. The standard eight-way power driver’s seat features lumbar support.
