Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Hyundai Accent 21 Generation (2020)

The 2020 Accent gets a new 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that was slightly more powerful than its previous predecessor, and the engine can run along with the newly available variator.

Hyundai Accent 20 Generation (2019)

In 2019, the chrome grille became a standard feature of the car. The mid-level SEL trim gets fog lights, and the top-of-the-line Limited version is now equipped with LED headlights.

Hyundai Accent 19 Generation (2018)

The 2018 Accent is available in SE, SEL, and Limited trims, all with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The SE has a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission; the SEL and Limited have an automatic transmission only.

Hyundai Accent 18 Generation (2017)

A new Value Edition model includes Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, cruise control, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.

Hyundai Accent 17 Generation (2016)

There are no significant changes in 2016. Hyundai Accent has excellent standard features with a 137-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission, remote keyless entry with alarm, and a stereo CD with iPod connectivity and an MP3 jack.

Hyundai Accent 16 Generation (2015)

The 2015 Accent received an updated grille, headlights, and taillights. The SE trim becomes the sporty trim for 2015. An outside temperature sensor is now standard.

Hyundai Accent 15 Generation (2014)

The 2014 Accent got sliding sun visors, a driver-side blind-spot mirror, and one-touch activated turn signals that flash three times are now standard. The SE hatchback also gets new spotlights with LED accents an automatically raised driver’s window, and a tilt/extend steering wheel. These features are included in sedans with the available Premium package. The B&M Racing sports transmission also recently became available for the SE.

Hyundai Accent 14 Generation (2013)

The 2013 Accent gains more standard features. All trim levels now include remote keyless entry, heated side mirrors, and air conditioning. The GLS sedan is newly equipped with a satellite radio and an iPod/USB port. The up-level SE trim now includes turn-signal indicators on the side mirrors, and it can have an optional power sunroof.

Hyundai Accent 13 Generation (2012)

For 2012, the company completely redesigned its entry-level offering. The Accent is now different from the rest of the segment in terms of cost and performance. The new Accent gets an improved engine. Hyundai has direct injection in its new 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower. That’s a lot of power in this segment.

Hyundai Accent 12 Generation (2011)

For 2011, the base Accent hatchback is now designated GL instead of Blue, and the base SE price has been reduced by $800 by removing the power sunroof from standard equipment.

Hyundai Accent 11 Generation (2010)

For 2010, the Accent received improved fuel economy ratings from the Environmental Protection Agency and a new base package called Blue. All automatic Accents received an “Eco Indicator,” which tells drivers when they are very fuel-efficient, moderately fuel-efficient, and less fuel-efficient. Manual models have a shift indicator that tells drivers when it’s best to shift gears to improve fuel economy. The Accent can seat up to five people inside.

Hyundai Accent 10 Generation (2009)

The Accent’s biggest change for 2009 is its mileage. The Blue comes only as a two-door hatchback and gets 28/36 miles per gallon city/highway. That increase in mileage doesn’t happen without a change in power or torque. A small change is an addition of a standard iPod/USB port for all trim levels in the interior.

Hyundai Accent 9 Generation (2008)

The GLS and SE models had upgraded gauges in 2008. Later this year, an additional jack for MP3 players will be added to the CD stereo in both cars, and satellite radio XM with three months of free service. The base GL hatchback doesn’t have a CD player, so be prepared to play your own tunes. The Accent can fit up to five people in the cabin, which has 1.5 inches more legroom in the back than before. The front height is also 0.7 inches more. Cargo space is 12.4 cubic feet in the sedan and 15.9 cubic feet in the hatchback.

Hyundai Accent 8 Generation (2007)

Among the changes in 2007 to the Hyundai Accent lineup was the addition of a two-door hatchback in the base GS or sport SE trim. The anti-lock brakes, which were standard last year, have been moved to the options list. The Accent can seat up to five people with 1.5 inches more legroom in the back than before. The front height is also 0.7 inches more.

Hyundai Accent 7 Generation (2006)

The Hyundai Accent is a front-wheel-drive small sedan that seats up to five people. It is equipped with a 120-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission.

Hyundai Accent 6 Generation (2005)

In 2005, anti-lock brakes were a new option on the models. GLS and GT trim levels are available for the three-door hatchback, while only the GLS is available for the four-door sedan.

Hyundai Accent 5 Generation (2004)

Hyundai’s smallest and least expensive model underwent minor changes in 2004 after a major overhaul in the 2003 model year. With a 96.1-inch wheelbase, the Accent has an overall length of 166.7 inches, more than 8 inches shorter than the Honda Civic and Ford Focus compact sedans. GT models have 14-inch alloy wheels, sport suspension, rear spoiler, and fog lights.

Hyundai Accent 4 Generation (2003)

Changes for 2003 included a redesigned hood, fenders, headlights, faceplate, and taillights. Built-in South Korea, the front-wheel-drive Accent was last updated in 2000.

Hyundai Accent 3 Generation (2002)

Changes for 2002 are few as Hyundai is the smallest, least-expensive model. Redesigned for 2000, the front-drive Accent is available as a two-door hatchback or a four-door sedan. A 105-hp, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is standard in the GL and GS, while the base Accent holds a 1.5-liter engine that makes 92 horsepower.

Hyundai Accent 2 Generation (2001)

A 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 92 horsepower returns as the engine for the base models. The GS and GL models now get a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that generates 105 hp. Both engines come with a standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai Accent 1 Generation (2000)

Hyundai claims the Accent has five seats with two front buckets and a rear multi-passenger seat, but limited legroom and a narrow cabin make four people nearly impossible. The sedan has 10.7 cubic feet of cargo space and the hatchback has 16 cubic feet, and both have a folding rear setback that increases cargo capacity. Power steering, a stereo, and a rear window heater are standard.
