Ford Edge Generations
Ford Edge 2 Generation (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
The current generation of the Ford Edge midsize SUV is from the 2015 model year. Even after styling updates for 2019, it seemed a little dated, especially inside. Not so much now: by 2021, the Edge will get a new 12-inch touchscreen multimedia display with the latest Ford Sync 4 operating system. The upcoming 2021 F-150 also has this size display, but it is oriented horizontally, while the Edge has a vertical display.
Ford Edge 1 Generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)
The Edge is a fairly well-equipped new model with a few missing features, such as the aforementioned rearview camera and power tailgate. The SE is a bit shorter, it lacks leather on the shifter and steering wheel, chrome on the dashboard, illuminated door mirrors, and trunk in the overhead console. The 2014 Edge comes standard with a 285-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that works with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 240-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with energy-efficient active grille louvers is available, as is a 3.7-liter V-6 with 305 hp.
