Cadillac Escalade Generations
Cadillac Escalade 22 Generation (2021)
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is a technological showcase, a coddling limousine, and a worthy claimant of the flagship American luxury vehicle title.
Cadillac Escalade 21 Generation (2020)
There are no significant changes this year. A redesigned Escalade is expected soon.
Cadillac Escalade 20 Generation (2019)
2019 a new hands-free liftgate is standard. A new available Sport Edition features gloss-black exterior trim and 22-inch wheels.
Cadillac Escalade 19 Generation (2018)
The biggest, worst American luxury vehicle is undisputedly the Cadillac Escalade, a bling behemoth that prowls the streets of the United States in all its chrome-grille glory, rumbling and roaring its anti-environmental presence. While foreign automakers maintain flagship sedans, like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Lexus LS 460, the American love for trucks has elevated rigs like the Escalade to that position here.
Cadillac Escalade 18 Generation (2017)
The Cadillac Escalade comes in two sizes: regular and ESV. They basically correspond to the lengths of the Chevrolet Tahoe (regular) and longer Suburban (ESV). That extended length comes in both the wheelbase and the rear cargo compartment.
Cadillac Escalade 17 Generation (2016)
For 2016, the standard Cadillac User Experience entertainment system features Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is expected later in the model year. As part of the Driver Awareness Package, lane-keeping assist is now available.
Cadillac Escalade 16 Generation (2015)
For 2015, the big Cadillac has received a complete redesign, as have its Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon siblings. As before, if you need more space you can opt for the Suburban-sized, long-wheelbase ESV model. The powertrain carries over, but the sheet metal and much of the mechanical bits are completely new, resulting in an Escalade that feels different from the outgoing model.
Cadillac Escalade 15 Generation (2014)
Cadillac has dropped the Escalade Hybrid from the lineup. There are no other significant changes for 2014.
Cadillac Escalade 14 Generation (2013)
In Escalade there are no significant changes for 2013.
Cadillac Escalade 13 Generation (2012)
Apart from a revised navigation system and a variety of new anti-theft features, there are no significant changes for 2012.
Cadillac Escalade 12 Generation (2011)
Cadillac now includes standard scheduled oil changes, tire rotations, replacement of engine and cabin air filters, and multi-point vehicle inspection for four years or 50,000 miles. There’s more noise reduction material, including a laminated windshield and side glass, and a new rearview mirror.
Cadillac Escalade 11 Generation (2010)
The Cadillac Escalade’s 6.2-liter V-8 now features cylinder deactivation, a technology designed to save gas by automatically shutting off four cylinders when driving conditions allow. The clock from prior Platinum trims is now standard across the lineup, and there are new side-impact airbags for the front seats. There’s a USB port for connecting a portable music player to the audio system.
Cadillac Escalade 10 Generation (2009)
For 2009, the Cadillac Escalade gains E85 capability for the 6.2-liter V-8, an optional blind-zone alert system, and a luxury Platinum option package.
Cadillac Escalade 9 Generation (2008)
Three-tier headlights and a large crisscrossed grille define the Escalade’s styling, while chrome applications throughout emphasize the vehicle’s luxury status.
Cadillac Escalade 8 Generation (2007)
The Escalade’s large SUV is easy to drive and has plenty of power. Its spirited launches are based on the exceptional comfort of heated and cooled leather front seats, making the Escalade a great place to relax.
Cadillac Escalade 7 Generation (2006)
The Escalade is equipped with many safety features, including stability control, rollover protection, anti-lock brakes, and side airbags for all three rows of seats.
Cadillac Escalade 6 Generation (2005)
The new Escalade easily challenges the Lincoln Navigator for American luxury supremacy, and it even provides a legitimately refined, technologically advanced rival for BMW, Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz.
Cadillac Escalade 5 Generation (2004)
Driving the Escalade delivers a light, relaxing, and gentle experience that luxury cars haven’t felt in years.
Cadillac Escalade 4 Generation (2003)
The steering is nicely weighted, not smooth, and the body control is flat in the corners. The Escalade feels well-handled and nimble enough to further enhance the sense of effortless luxury serenity that Cadillac engineers have successfully created.
Cadillac Escalade 3 Generation (2002)
There are no significant changes this year.
Cadillac Escalade 2 Generation (2000)
Standard features include wireless device charging, power-adjustable steering column, tri-zone automatic climate control, 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot, power-adjustable pedals, heated and cooled front seat panel, heated second-row seats, heated steering wheel, 360-degree camera system, power-folding third row, and Bose surround-sound audio system.
