Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

The A6 changes for 2021 consist of the reshuffling of some features within option packages.
Audi A6 26 Generation (2020)
There was a great styling update in 2020, but the hard-driving and proliferation of touchscreen controls didn’t make the new Audi A6 better than the old one.
Audi A6 25 Generation (2019)
A competent, comfortable, and durable benchmark for interior quality, the A6 retains much of what we’ve always liked in its latest all-new 2019 A6 3.0T Quattro. But some things have changed for the worse, including some basic things about the interior and the A6’s ride and driving style.
Audi A6 24 Generation (2018)
A navigation system and the Audi Advanced Key are now standard. Premium Plus trim levels add LED headlights and cabin lighting while the Prestige version gains a 360-degree camera system.
Audi A6 23 Generation (2017)
Not much has changed in 2017. The A6 has a new standard powertrain: a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine replaces last year’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, providing significantly more power and torque. Power increases from 220 to 252 and torque increases from 258 to 273 lb-ft.

For the 2015 model year, a new Warm Weather Package is available featuring four-zone automatic climate control as well as a power rear sunshade and manual shades for the rear side windows.
Audi A6 20 Generation (2014)
The 2014 Audi A6 2.0T offers a well-rounded luxury experience even in basic trim levels, though it flies under the radar without much flash on the outside. The Audi A6 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine now makes 220 hp.

For 2013, A6 models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine are now available with Quattro all-wheel drive.
Audi A6 18 Generation (2012)
The 2012 Audi A6 has the high-tech gadgets and style to attract luxury shoppers, but it lacks the dynamic driving experience of the BMW 5 Series, the benchmark of the class.
Audi A6 17 Generation (2011)
The Multi-Media Interface information and navigation system is standard across the board this year. All models gain the A6 S line Packages bumpers, door sills, and headlight washers as standard.
Audi A6 16 Generation (2010)
The A6 station wagon, which Audi calls the Avant, gets the same updates as the sedan this year, although its taillights have not changed as drastically. It’s only available in Quattro 3.0T form. Compared to the sedan, the station wagon weighs an additional 132 pounds — enough to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h nominally in 6.1 seconds. Its $3,210 premium gives you 33.9 cubic feet of cargo space, more than twice the trunk volume of the sedan.

2009 brings a number of end-of-cycle updates: new headlights revised equipment packages, tweaked under the hood, and a new supercharged 3.0-liter B-6. The supercharged six, which comes with the ill-named A6 3.0T, comes with standard Quattro all-wheel drive in both sedan and station wagon bodies.

Aside from the large grille that looks like a muzzle, Audi didn’t take any risks with the A6’s exterior, which gives it an understated but stylish look from many angles. The sedan has an aggressively sloped rear pillar, transitioning into a short rear lid, flanked by LED taillights.

The A6 can have the 3.1-liter V-6 or the 4.2-liter V-8, which got 15 horsepower in 2007. The basic front-wheel-drive A6 with the V-6 engine uses a continuously variable transmission. Which can simulate shifting by shifting between preset gear ratios. V-6 and V-8 models with Audi’s all-wheel-drive Quattro system get a six-speed automatic transmission with clutchless manual mode for driver-initiated gear shifting.
Audi A6 12 Generation (2006)
Audi’s Multitronic continuously variable transmission has returned on a new A6 3.2 FSI sedan with Front-rank front-wheel drive. An Avant 3.2 wagon with a Tiptronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive is also new for 2006.
Audi A6 11 Generation (2005)
Quattro all-wheel drive is standard on both models. The sedan’s wheelbase has increased by 3.3 inches to 112 inches, increasing legroom in the front and rear for knees. You also get an extra inch of shoulder room in the front and rear. Torsional stiffness is increased by 34 percent.
Audi A6 10 Generation (2004)
Unveiled at the 2004 New York International Auto Show, the redesigned Audi A6 sports sedan resembles its predecessor but now leads off with a bold, squarish grille. Available with a choice of V-6 or V-8 power, this is the first Audi with optional adaptive headlight technology. These bi-xenon headlights swivel to improve night views on the twisting pavement.

The A6 midsize sedans and S6 Avant wagons from the Volkswagen luxury division get a moderate list of changes for the 2003 model year. New leather seating surfaces are standard on Audi A6 2.7T and 3.0 models. All-season 17-inch tires are optional on the 2.7T and 3.0 Quattro. A number of features have been removed: the prewiring for a CD changer, a passenger-seat memory feature, Tiptronic controls on the steering wheel, and Servotronic steering on 3.0 models.
Audi A6 8 Generation (2002)
Still offered as a sedan or an A6 Avant wagon, Audi midsize model sees some sheet-metal revisions for 2002, along with a new transmission choice. A 3.0-liter V-6 replaces the 2.8-liter engine in the base 3.0 model, while the A6 2.7T continues to carry a turbocharged V-6, and the A6 4.2 packs a 4.2-liter V-8.

All A6 models now have standard curtain-type airbags, and Audi stretches its warranty of the entire vehicle by one year to four years/50,000 miles, including scheduled maintenance.

Two new engines highlight the changes for 2000 on the A6, Audi’s midsize sedan. The A6 fits between Audi’s A4 and A8 models in size and price. One of this year’s new engines, a 4.2-liter V-8, elevates the A6 into the same performance league as V-8 versions of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Jaguar XJ sedan.
